"Alright then."
Brittany found herself a quiet spot with her glass of champagne. She wasn't too familiar with the power dynamics of H city, nor did she have much inclination to socialize.
She comfortably settled into a leather couch. Her clean, slender fingers wrapped around her glass.
Leo was busy mingling and soon disappeared into the crowd.
After a few sips of champagne, Brittany began to feel a little woozy.
She put down her glass and headed for the restroom.
As she stepped into the restroom, her phone started ringing. It was a call from Isaac.
Brittany frowned. Why on earth was he calling?
She hung up without answering and went into a stall.
Isaac didn’t give up after being hung up on. He made several more calls, annoying Brittany to no end. Finally, she reluctantly answered, "Mr. Salter, what's up?"
"Where are you?" Isaac's voice was cold. He had never imagined Brittany would attract attention while on a business trip.
Brittany bristled at his questioning tone. "What's it to you where I am?"
What right did he have to question her whereabouts?
Isaac noticed her sharp tone and took a deep breath, pausing for a moment, "Sorry, I was a bit too pushy. Daniel said he missed you. That's why I called."
Brittany remembered she had an auction to attend that night and might not have time for Daniel.
"I have an auction tonight and might not be able to spend time with him. Can you explain that to him?"
An auction!
Isaac immediately gestured to Nathan to find out exactly where Brittany was.
"I'm hanging up now." Brittany ended the call. After resting in the restroom for half an hour, she returned to the banquet.
...
At the hotel.
Nathan quickly found out Brittany’s location and managed to snag an invitation within ten minutes.
Isaac, dressed in a dark suit, was ready to set off.
