He was up the entire night waiting for Brittany's return, but she never showed up.
He was afraid something had happened to her and looked everywhere, even hanging around the Dustin Group for a while.
But what he didn't expect was for Brittany to step out of Lionel's car.
Brittany looked at Isaac with disgust in her eyes, "Who I'm with is none of your business, is it?"
"We're married." Isaac's voice was low, "Bri, I'm sorry. I've really messed up. But I'm human too. I have feelings. Can you stop provoking me just because I love you, please?"
He couldn't guarantee what he might do if Brittany kept pushing his buttons like that.
Brittany scoffed, "Either lock me up or I'm going to divorce you sooner or later."
Brittany didn't want to deal with Isaac anymore; sorting out the Dustin Group was what really mattered.
Back at the office, it was total chaos, and Brittany felt a headache coming on at the sight of the mountain of paperwork.
Just as she finished dealing with all the files, she collapsed in the lounge, utterly exhausted. Before she could fall asleep, she received a phone call.
"Hello, is this Daniel Salter's mother?"
A gentle female voice came through, and Brittany immediately sat up and said, "Yes, it is."
"Hello, I'm Daniel's teacher. He got into a fight at school. Could you come over?"
It was as if a bomb had gone off in Brittany's head. For a moment, she lost her composure, stood up abruptly, and rushed to the school.
When she arrived at the school, she stood outside the classroom.
Daniel's head was bandaged, and beside him stood a chubby little boy and a middle-aged couple.
Seeing Brittany arrive, the teacher approached and asked, "Are you Daniel's mother?"
"Yes, what happened?" Brittany's face turned solemn at the sight of Daniel's bandage.
"Well, Daniel got into a conflict with two other students. According to the surveillance, he threw the first punch."
The female teacher looked troubled.
Brittany frowned. Daniel had always been a well-behaved kid. Why would he start a fight for no reason?
She walked over to Daniel, who immediately teared up but didn't dare approach, simply standing still in his spot.
"Daniel, are you hurt?" Brittany's voice choked up.
