Kari, over the years, managed to buy her own house and car in Imperial City, and her career was on a steady upward trajectory.
But when compared to the Jarvis family, her accomplishments seemed insignificant.
"Nathan has his own plans, and the opinions of the Jarvis family do not matter."
Isaac, discontented with Brittany's interest in others, peeled a plate of shrimp for her and pushed it towards her. "Eat up."
Brittany didn't need to guess to know that this man was jealous. His tolerance was thinner than a needle's point.
...
After dinner, the trio returned home.
Daniel immediately darted into the bathroom, and Isaac took off his coat. "Bri, you rest first. I'll get him ready for bed."
"Alright."
Isaac walked into the bathroom, where Daniel was already sitting in the tub, stark naked. "Daddy, when are you going to give me a little sister?"
He was still longing for a soft and cuddly little sister.
Isaac unbuttoned his shirt cuffs and squatted down, "You want a little sister?"
"Yes." Daniel even dreamed of having a sister like a small cupcake, and if he really got one, he would cherish her dearly!
Isaac took the shower gel, lathered Daniel’s body, and said mysteriously, "If you want a sister, be good, go to bed early, and don't disturb your mother and me without a good reason."
Daniel hesitated, then asked, "Will that get me a sister?"
"If you can do it."
Caught in a dilemma between Brittany and a sister, Daniel finally agreed after a few seconds, "Okay!"
After his bath, Daniel refused Brittany's offer to tell him a story. "Mom, I can sleep by myself now. You go rest."
Daniel pushed Brittany out and locked the door behind her.
Brittany was confused.
Wasn't he the one who always wanted a story?
