Brittany found Isaac's aloofness as cold as an iceberg, without any curiosity at all.
She wanted to invite him to celebrate something, but the words got stuck in her throat and she ended up not saying anything.
Isaac, put on his slippers, asked, "Huh?"
"Okay, it's a jewelry company."
Brittany saw his disinterest and decided not to continue. She tidied up her design drafts and retreated to her room.
Isaac furrowed his brows. Did he say something wrong? She seemed a bit upset...
...
The next morning, Brittany got up. After breakfast, she left without saying hello to Isaac.
Isaac, sitting at the dining table, also left after breakfast.
At the company, Brittany spent the whole day perfecting her design drafts, and finally handed them to William, who was very pleased.
"Bri, I like your design drafts very much, but Mr. Tueley is not easy to deal with this time. You have to be careful."
"I know, sir."
At the company, she still called him sir.
William smiled, checking his watch, "It's getting late. Fancy dinner?"
He paused, "I heard Hannah is in town too. Let's invite her."
"Alright."
Hannah had wanted to have dinner with William. Now, the three of them could go together. Brittany contacted Hannah, arranged the restaurant, and then the two left the company together.
Sydney saw this and was green with envy! Brittany was trying to seduce William again!
The restaurant they arranged to meet was a place they often went to during university. Hannah arrived, panting. She took the tea in front of Brittany, gulped it down, and after catching her breath, complained, "My boss is really too much. My workload has doubled recently!"
She didn't even have time to chit-chat!
Brittany chuckled.
William, sitting next to her, called the waiter to add a set of cutlery and poured her a cup of coffee, "Take it slow."
Hannah greeted William with a smile, "William, long time no see. You've become more handsome."
William responded with a warm smile.
The three of them chatted as they ate. William was tactful and maintained a good pace in the conversation. Hannah propped her chin on her hand, thinking that it would be great if Brittany married William. He was from a good family, had a good personality, and knew Brittany well.
Unfortunately, Brittany married a man she barely knew!
After seeing off William, Hannah sighed, "Bri, how great it would be if you had married William!"
Brittany looked shocked, "Doesn't William have someone he likes?"
Hannah was speechless. Wasn't the person he liked you?
"Don't you want to know who William likes?" Hannah asked.
"No."
Brittany shook her head. It was her senior's private matter, and she didn't care.
Hannah swallowed the words she was about to say, "Never mind, let's go home."
Back at the apartment, Isaac hadn't returned. She thought about texting him, but then decided against it as it might cause unnecessary trouble since they were only in a fake marriage. So, she asked William about Wesley instead and planned to meet him the next day.
Isaac hadn't returned by the time she went to bed.
When she woke up the next morning, he still wasn't there. Brittany was a bit worried, but she didn't ask further. She took her design drafts and headed for Tueley Corporation.
The receptionist stopped her and looked at her suspiciously, "Who are you looking for?"
"Hello, I'm Brittany from VelvetGlow Jewellery. I'm here to discuss design drafts with Mr. Tueley."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No, how long will it take if I make an appointment now?"
"About two hours."
Brittany smiled, "Then, could you please make an appointment for me?"
The receptionist pointed to the waiting room, "Please wait here."
Brittany turned and left.
The receptionist laughed, "What's wrong with VelvetGlow Jewellery? Any designer dares to approach Mr. Tueley?"
Don't they know their place!
