The Broken Mate-Rejected And Desired novel Chapter 6

The door was locked, and I couldn't think twice before kicking it hard, breaking down the hinges; I sped in and saw the pills lying in the cupboard.

I picked it up and dashed back, this time faster than my legs could carry me, as I couldn't tell how long he could hold on to the pain since he was struck by more than two arrows.

The moment I got into my room, he was lying motionless on the bed, and I felt my heart stop inside my chest as my blood ran cold at the thought that he could be dead already.

"No!" my voice shrieked through the room as tears stung my eyes with my heart so heavy.

I exhaled in relief as I saw him awake, his heart thudding inside his chest; his eyes also opened. I can't believe I was concerned this much.

He heard the scream. He saw how I ran over and leant to his face. That had made him smile weakly, displaying his dimples. I had to gulp and act like I never cared that much with a shrug.

"Take the pills. I can't find any ointment. This will cure your inner wound and prevent you from dying, even though the external wound won't heal so fast." I purred into his ear, trying hard not to touch him. Not because of his wounds, but because I'm afraid of that spark, that electrifying feeling when our skin meets.

He sat up, and I handed the pill and water to him, which he gurgled down his gullet before handing back the cup to me. I headed over to the table to drop it and could feel his eyes all over me from behind.

My pace was quite slow as I couldn't tell what would happen next if I turned to him after dropping the cup.

"Thank you for your help," he spoke out.

I couldn't push back the grin; the blushing and exciting feelings at that appreciation.

But then, I realized what I had done. Saved a vampire Instead of killing him.

I turned and walked to him in sadness

I think I have made another mistake in my life, all because of love. I sat on the stool beside the bed as our eyes locked together again; I was falling hard for him, yet I don't know if he feels the same. I am always the fool.

"The only mistake you made was falling for Torian, who doesn't love you but wanted you for sex only," he cooed, and my eyebrows arched on hearing him say that.

I can't remember telling him about Torian.

"What do you mean? Like, who told you?" I shrieked with a gaping mouth.

He looked at me with a little smile before stretching his hand to mine. I felt like pulling back, but lost the strength as his soft palm held my mind softly, the spark rushing through me like a wave.

"I came inside this pack because of you. It was dangerous, yet I couldn't mind; I thought my identity wouldn't be exposed, but a witch found out and that was why I was hunted. I followed you all day, and I'm sorry for all that Torian did. I'm also sorry for what will happen to you after now," he purred, tears wetting his eyes.

Just then, I heard footsteps and the voice of my father outside the sitting room and knew instantly what he meant; it was like a tsunami hitting me hard before I could realize it.

Hot tears stung my eyes so painfully that they poured like a stream.

"My name is Blake," he uttered and moved his hand over my neck gently, plucking out the heart-shaped pendant that hung over my necklace. He also did the same with his necklace pendant, which was a pearl ring.
