In the bustling world of the Lopez Corporation, she had to be at least a project manager to navigate the waters so adeptly. Everything she did was organized, efficient, and without a single beat missed.
"Ms. Sanchez, could you, um, maybe pretend you don't know?" the new assistant asked, a troubled look in his eyes. "Mr. Lopez made it clear I shouldn't spill the beans!"
But here he was, barely his second day on the job, and his secret was already out.
How was he going to explain this to Mr. Lopez?
"Don't worry, he won't take it out on you," Dorothy said with a sigh. "It just seems so unfair to me that you were transferred from the Lopez Corporation to Trust-E, only to be demoted to an assistant role. It's a double whammy - a demotion and a pay cut. I can't let you suffer just for my convenience."
Who would willingly accept such a fate, especially leaving the Lopez Corporation behind? That place was like the golden ticket everyone fought for.
But to Dorothy's surprise, the assistant just shook his head vigorously, his smile wide.
"Ms. Sanchez, I didn't technically quit the Lopez Corporation! This is more like a paid secondment!" He grinned, squinting. "The workload at Trust-E is light, I knock off early, and I'm drawing two salaries from both Trust-E and the Lopez Corporation. I'm not suffering at all!"
Dorothy was at a loss for words.
The guy was clearly content with his lot, not bothered in the slightest.
To think he'd come up with such a plan to help himself. He was... creative, to say the least.
...
Dorothy's sudden pregnancy discovery postponed her business trip to Everglow City by a few days.
She had to be absolutely sure that the little shove from Perdita hadn't caused any harm before she could go back to work as usual.
