Aurora was bone-tired.
It was only after she heard her baby's loud cries that she finally allowed herself a sigh of relief, and then she drifted off to sleep.
When she woke up, she found herself back at Bay Residence.
Seeing her daughter awake, Dorothy immediately came over, filled with concern. “Abigail, how are you feeling? Is there any discomfort?”
Aurora shook her head faintly. “Mom, how did I get back…”
“It was your dad’s doing! He had the doctors come over to Bay Residence, worried you wouldn’t rest well at the hospital.”
"The baby..."
"Your little one just fell asleep! Your dad's watching over in the nursery."
Everett had intentionally kept his granddaughter and daughter in separate rooms.
He was concerned that the baby’s crying would disturb Aurora's rest.
In Everett’s heart, his daughter was always his priority, and he was always the one to think things through the most carefully.
Aurora tried to prop herself up with her elbows, but lacking the strength, she had to lie back down.
"Mom, I want to see the baby."
"Alright! Just wait here, I'll bring her over."
Dorothy hurried to the nursery, and soon after, both she and Everett tiptoed back in.
Seeing his daughter's weary face, Everett’s heart ached like nobody else’s could.
His handsome face darkened even more, but not wanting to show his feelings in front of his daughter, his expression appeared somewhat peculiar.
“Just focus on getting better, leave everything else to me, you don’t have to worry about a thing!”
"Dad... I’m sorry, for making you and mom worry."
Aurora hung her head, a face full of guilt.
She didn’t feel like she owed her ex-husband Craig anything.
The only shame she felt was causing her parents worry.
