The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires novel Chapter 170

Everett's eyes darkened.

"I'll figure out a way to get my mom to accept Dorothy."

"No way in hell, son! Your mom is hell-bent on Heather. You heard her in the hospital, didn't you?"

Everett glanced towards his bedroom, "There's got to be a way."

He just hadn't thought of it yet.

Jonathan stayed quiet for a good while before he finally muttered, "Earlier, Heather pulled me aside and suggested that you two could pretend to be together in front of your mom. That can at least stabilize her condition! I'm not okay with lying to your mom. I’m afraid the truth will come out someday. But if you insist on not breaking up with Dorothy, then what Heather said is the only solution for now. Think about it."

With that, he hung up.

Everett stared at his phone screen. His thick eyebrows furrowed deeply.

He knew full well that persuading his mom would be next to impossible. Only a stalling tactic could solve the problem for now.

But he couldn't shake off an ominous feeling.

...

Perhaps exhausted from Everett's demands, Dorothy was sleeping soundly.

When she woke up the next day and saw the ceiling of Bay Residence, it took her a good while to recognize where she was.

She got up, freshened up, and walked out of the bedroom.

Everett, in his white home-wear, was typing away at his computer at the dining table. He was communicating about some company matters with his brows slightly furrowed.

A steaming hot breakfast was almost ready in the kitchen.

She hoped the moment could last forever.

Hearing the noise, Everett looked over, "Hold on, we can eat soon."
