After watching Everett's car disappear from sight, Dorothy turned around with a grin to head back to the office.

Suddenly, Heather popped out of nowhere, strutting towards her in high heels.

Dorothy really didn't want to deal with her. She had a ton of work to do and didn't have time to tangle with Heather daily.

"You don't have to dodge me. Today will be the last time I seek you out to talk alone."

A floral perfume scent emitted from Heather.

Dorothy could smell it as clear as day when she got close. She didn't like that smell at all.

She took a step back. "What do you want to say?"

"Stay away from Everett, or you'll face consequences you can't handle." Heather spoke with a threatening tone.

Despite her voice not being particularly loud or aggressive, somehow it made Dorothy's heart sink.

"What are you up to, Heather? Remember, I haven't done anything to harm you, even though you and your mom stole the family that was supposed to be mine. But you're still trying to frame me and threaten me? You better not take me for a pushover!"

Everyone had a day when they were completely enraged, and Dorothy had no idea what that scene would look like for her.

But Heather only laughed. "You and your mom took what isn't rightfully yours, so sooner or later you'll have to cough it up or pay the price. This isn't my doing; it's because you and your mom are being greedy!"

Heather shrugged. "Fine, I won't. I've done what I came to do, so I'm leaving. Dorothy, if it weren't for Everett's father, Jonathan, insisting that I come, I wouldn't have."

Dorothy frowned. "So it was Everett's father who sent you."

"You really think I'm kind-hearted enough to keep coming here and reminding you not to cross the Lopez family? What I want most is to see you and your mom tossed out of the Lopez Corporation and this city, like dogs with their tails between their legs."
