The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires novel Chapter 211

"Dorothy... what did she say to you?"

Kenneth was still unclear about the situation, so naturally, he could not blurt out anything.

However, Everett's demeanor shook him to the core.

It was clear that Dorothy held a significant place in his heart, given that the profound sorrow that Everett was displaying was not feigned.

"She said she was tired of being with me."

As Everett finished, he subconsciously reached for his cigarettes, only to find that he had smoked the last half of the box while waiting for Kenneth.

Kenneth took a deep breath, feigning composure. "Seeking my help is futile. The one who feels drained is her."

Everett raised his eyes, meeting Kenneth's gaze.

Though his eyes were heavy with fatigue, they held an innate intensity that couldn't be ignored. Just by standing in opposition to Kenneth; his silent, cool, and aloof demeanor was enough to squash Kenneth's spirit.

A gentle breeze stirred, lightly ruffling the hair on Everett's forehead.

After a long moment, he broke the silence. "I want you to leave the country, to leave here. I want her to have no other options. Kenneth, I don't want to hurt anyone close to her. I know how much she values her friendship with Karen; that's why I came to you personally."

The implication was clear. He'd laid the groundwork for Kenneth's exit, and if Kenneth refused...

"Are you threatening me, Mr. Lopez?"

"Aren't I supposed to threaten you when you're trying to take my wife away?"

He admitted to the threat, and so what?

Kenneth chuckled. "But Dorothy is also someone I want to cherish, and her choosing me was her decision. If you truly love her, you should respect her choice."

"I can respect everything about her but this."
