"Daddy, we need to keep Nova safe and can't let any spooks get close to her. They'll scare the living daylights out of her."
Arnold couldn't help but laugh and cry at William's words, "Don't worry, with Daddy here, not even the bogeyman would dare to come near you guys."
Kane glanced at Leopold, "Dad, do ghosts really exist?"
Leopold gently patted Kane's head, "Whether they exist or not, there's nothing to be afraid of. The only thing in this world we need to be wary of is other people, because they're the ones who can hurt you."
"I understand," Kane nodded, absorbing the wisdom of Leopold.
Ghosts never scratched others, but people did.
In the hotel, Aurelia woke up after a short nap feeling peckish. The morning sickness was hitting hard this time around, and her appetite was shot. During her first pregnancy, she was ravenous for everything from pickles to ice cream.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. She opened it to find Lisa standing there, holding two cups of what looked like milkshakes.
"We got some milkshakes to share," Lisa said with a faint smile.
Aurelia, pregnant and not in the mood for milkshakes, still took them with a smile and set them on the coffee table.
"Didn't you watch the fireworks show, Lisa?"
Lisa shook her head, "Not my scene. Just enjoy the shake." She poked a straw into one of the cups and handed it over.
Aurelia chuckled, "My stomach is a bit off right now. I'll just let it sit for a bit, maybe drink it later."
