Kane said, "We'll also pay our respects to Grandpa and the other elders. You're part of the Stirling family, so of course, you're coming along."
William sighed, "Alright."
The next morning, after breakfast, Leopold herded Skyler and the kids into the car, setting off for the Stirling family’s cemetery.
William's emotions were all over the place. The last time he had seen his memorial plaque in the family chapel had been quite a shock.
And now, going to the cemetery to pay respects to himself was absurd. He was very much alive, after all.
As they entered the cemetery, William trailed behind Leopold and soon came face to face with his gravestone.
Around the grave of beloved son Liam Stirling.
Liam and Kane had been named before birth by Jessica.
The cemetery was well-maintained by dedicated staff, so every corner was pristine.
Fresh flowers and sweets were placed there daily.
"Liam, I have brought your brother and sisters to see you," Leopold said in a deep and somber voice.
Nina sighed heavily, "Poor little brother, it would be nice if he were still with us."
"He and Kane are twins. They must look exactly alike, right?" Mira chimed in.
Kane nodded, "Liam and I are identical twins. We really do look the same."
Skyler scratched his head, "But wasn't Liam kidnapped at birth? You never met him, so how do you know you're identical?"
Kane replied earnestly, "We have a twin telepathy, all twins do. I often dream of Liam, and in my dreams, he's the spitting image of me."
William felt a torrent of emotions, like waves crashing within him, unable to settle.
