The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 119

Elowen was once again barred from Leopold's office, her rage reaching boiling point. She called up Aurelia, asking her to join her for a meal.

Aurelia took her to the Italian restaurant across the street.

Truth be told, Aurelia felt a pang of sympathy for Elowen. Despite her somewhat brash and headstrong nature, it was clear that her love for Leopold was genuine.

Luck hadn't been on her side. Had it not been for the medical mishap, she'd have successfully been pregnant by now, likely securing her place as the official Mrs. Stirling.

Elowen ordered a can of beer, gulping down more than half of it. The bitterness in her heart was nearly enough to bring her to tears.

"Do you know, Leopold is often seen with Evelyn, playing golf, attending social clubs. He doesn't even try to hide it. And yet getting a minute with him is harder than climbing Mount Everest. It's driving me insane," she complained.

She finished her beer in one go, making Aurelia feel like she was being cheated too. Stealing someone's man in such a blatant manner? Evelyn was definitely crossing a line.

She offered Elowen a meatball, "Miss Elowen, don't just drink, eat something. You'll get drunk."

Elowen, already tipsy, slammed her hand on the table, "Do you think I'm unlucky? If the artificial insemination had been successful, Leopold would have had to marry me. But now the baby is in your belly."

Aurelia stuck out her tongue, "Miss Elowen, the baby's not in my belly anymore. The boss forcefully made me get rid of it. I'm the unlucky one. Last month, I found out I have a fibroid in my womb, a result of the miscarriage operation. It's already six centimeters large. I'm single, have no boyfriend, and now I have a fibroid that not only causes painful periods but will also affect my fertility. Isn't this an undeserved disaster?"

During her prenatal checkup, the doctor had said she had a posterior placenta and wouldn't show much. But since she was carrying twins, it would be noticeable by the eighth month.

She had a plan. She'd tell everyone she had a fibroid. And when her belly started to show, she'd say the fibroid was growing and needed surgery.

This way, she could take a medical leave without anyone knowing she was hiding to give birth.

Elowen looked at her sympathetically, feeling a little better knowing there was someone worse off than herself.
