The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 1219

At that moment, Fredric strolled in, summoning Leopold to join their uncles for a round of bridge.

Today, only he and Leopold were around, and their side of the family felt decidedly quieter than usual when all were together.

Aurelia chuckled, "Go keep your uncles' company. I'll have a chat with Lisbeth. You wouldn't understand our talks anyway."

Leopold patted her head affectionately and left with Fredric.

Aurelia got Lisbeth a glass of juice and said, "Tomorrow, I'll take you shopping for some new clothes for the holidays. You're obviously pregnant now, and you need something more comfortable to wear."

"No need, I still have clothes," Lisbeth replied, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. She wasn't in the mood for shopping. After all, if Raines wasn't around to see her dressed up, what was the point?

Aurelia wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "Here, it's tradition to wear new clothes for the New Year. It symbolizes out with the old, in with the new, and brings good cheer. I know you're not feeling your best, but we have to stay positive, especially for the little baby on the way. It's important to keep in good spirits."

Lisbeth took a sip of her juice and nodded, "Alright, I'll follow your lead."

Aurelia picked up an orange, peeling it as she spoke, "Being alone at home can be tough, so you start overthinking. If you ever get bored, just come over. We can have some tea and chat. I've taken some time off work recently anyway, so I'm always here."

"Why aren't you working? You're a hotshot jewelry designer. Planning to retire early and become a lady of leisure?" Lisbeth teased.

Aurelia explained, "The Stirling family's been through a lot lately. Fredric's gone through another divorce, and the kids are staying here for now. Jessica's getting on in years, and she can't be burdened with these things anymore. So, I've put my work on hold to help sort out family affairs."

"I see," Lisbeth smiled faintly, "Playing the matriarch isn't easy. The whole family's troubles end up on your plate."
