Skyler flashed his phone screen to them, showing them the latest text message.
William glanced at the pastries on the table, "How in the world did he know you were munching on cranberry-studded chocolate chip cookies? Is he keeping tabs on us?"
Kane scratched his head, "Could there be a hacker who's breached the security at Mossy Rock Retreat?"
"We need to tell Leopold, get him to check it out," William suggested.
"Yeah," Kane nodded in agreement.
The trio dashed into the house to find Leopold.
At that moment, Leopold was about to take Aurelia for a stroll in the garden.
He tenderly caressed Aurelia's slightly rounded belly.
Skyler caught the gesture out of the corner of his eye and momentarily forgot what he was about to say, his eyes fixed on Aurelia's tummy.
Aurelia was dressed in a flowy coat that concealed her bump well, so Skyler didn't notice anything amiss at first, just that she seemed to have put on some weight.
"Angel, is there a little bun in the oven?" he blurted out.
Leopold jumped at the question, quickly dropping his hand. When had the kids come in?
Aurelia chuckled awkwardly, hurrying to explain, "No, what made you think that?"
Skyler replied seriously, "I saw Leopold touching your belly. Why would he do that for no reason, unless there's a baby on the way?"
Aurelia felt faint, and his psychology studies had certainly paid off with his keen observations.
She managed to keep her composure, waving her hand dismissively, "I might have had one too many sugared hawthorns, my stomach's a bit upset, so he was just comforting me."
"Really?" Skyler scratched his head, puzzled. Had he made a mistake?
William and Kane exchanged glances.
