Leopold's lips curved into a sardonic smile as he replied, "Indeed, self-awareness is your only redeeming quality."
Money-hungry misers like her had no sense of romance and were unworthy of being his woman.
Aurelia responded with a pleasing smile, but inside, she felt a prick of pain.
"Mr. Leopold, are you seeing anyone lately? Is it Evelyn?"
Leopold choked a little, glaring at her, "Why do you care?"
"Nothing." She shook her head, "Just curious, that's all."
"Curiosity killed the cat, remember that." He coldly stated, snatching the remaining orange from her hand, peeling a piece and popping it into his mouth.
Aurelia realized that this man's words and actions were contradictory.
He claimed he wasn't interested, yet he grabbed her orange.
She peeled another, eating it, when Leopold's hand covered her growing belly. His icy demeanor softened slightly.
"It seems to have grown a bit."
"Yes." She nodded, "As the babies grow, so does the belly. Luckily, I'm not the type to show easily, so with a coat on, it's hardly noticeable."
Leopold's gaze subtly moved upwards, resting on her chest. Her breast seemed to be growing more noticeable, as if deliberately tempting him.
His body tensed slightly, a subtle heat building up. His Adam's apple bobbed as he unconsciously stuffed several pieces of orange into his mouth.
But the more he ate, the hotter he became.
Aurelia was unaware of his discomfort, jokingly saying, "Mr. Leopold, once you start dating, you won't have time to come around here, right?"
Her face held a hint of a smile, which to Leopold was unbearably irritating. He was already hot under the collar, and now he was even more so, his temper flaring, "It seems like you really don't want me to come."
"No, no." She waved her hands, "I just don't want you to tire yourself out. You should spend more time with your new girlfriend. Don't worry about the baby, I'll take care of them…"
Before she could finish, her lips were abruptly sealed by his.
"Mmm…"
