No wonder they had to resort to artificial insemination to have a baby, rather than the natural way. Probably there are some sexual problems in their relationship.
Laura whispered, "That girl is gone, probably forever. If you can win Mr. Leopold's heart and replace Ms. Elowen by your children, it's not entirely impossible."
Aurelia wouldn't dare to try; she didn't have the confidence, nor the courage.
One was an upper class girl, the other was the moonlight lover of his life, while she herself was just an ordinary girl who, even after a hundred years of hard work, could never replace them.
"Laura, I'm just an average person. I can't be a part of the high society. As long as Mr. Leopold treats our children well, I'm satisfied."
A vessel should be aware of its limits and not overreach.
Her partner in the future should be someone from her own social class, someone who loves and respects her.
Laura wanted to say something but held her tongue, sighing silently instead.
After a casual chat, Aurelia was pretty sure that Elowen was the one who had been bad-mouthing her, with Kelly as her accomplice.
Elowen was probably suspicious about the "miscarriage procedure", and this was her way of probing.
Aurelia thought she couldn't just sit and wait for the worst to happen. She had to do something.
She sat on the couch and scrolled through Facebook for a while.
Someone posted a poster: Arno's Photography Exhibition.
The date was tomorrow.
Arno!
A top-tier global photographer, every single one of his photos was a collectible masterpiece.
Seeing his name, Aurelia's heart fluttered, like a string plucked on a guitar, her thoughts drifting into the distance...
The next day at lunch, she visited the exhibition hall, which was only two subway stops away from the office.
The hall was packed with fans who had come in admiration of Arno's work.
Aurelia's gaze fell on a particular photo, her eyes widening in surprise.
In the photo, a girl's side face was bathed in sunlight, her hair blowing in the wind, looking like an angel descended from heaven.
"This is a treasure from my collection years ago, she is the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."
A deep and magnetic voice came from beside her, causing Aurelia's heart to flutter. She turned abruptly.
A face as perfect as a piece of fine work met her gaze.
"Hey, Aurelia, long time no see."
The man's charming smile felt like a ray of long-lost sunshine into Aurelia's silent heart.
"Is it really you? I thought it was someone else with the same name."
"I guess I'm the only photographer named Arno." Arno shrugged. "As the subject of the photo, I hope you don't mind that I exhibited it."
Aurelia chuckled, "I don't mind. I've already transferred the image rights to you."
She and Arno had met on a trip three years ago and had lost contact since then. She never thought she would see him again in Elysium, let alone at a photography exhibition.
Then, a group of photography association fans ran over and surrounded Arno, asking for autographs and photos.
Aurelia was pushed to the side, only able to watch him from a distance.
She remembered trying to call him after the trip ended, but his phone was always off.
