The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 200

By the time Aurelia got back, it was nearing the end of the workday. Upon receiving a call from the secretary, she made her way towards the CEO's office.

Pushing open the door, she tiptoed in, sneaking a quick glance at the man seated behind the desk.

He was engrossed in sending an email, his face expressionless, his emotions unreadable.

After all these days, his anger should've subsided, right? Otherwise, he wouldn't have summoned her.

"Mr. Leopold, you wanted to see me?" she asked.

Leopold paused his typing, his gaze cold and piercing as it swept across her face, "How's the preparation for 'Destiny'?"

"It's in production, everything's going smoothly," she responded carefully.

He leaned back in his office chair, propping his forehead with his hand, "Do you think we can beat Ethereal Gems?"

She shrugged, a hint of amusement flashing in her eyes, "Absolutely, otherwise my career shift would be in jeopardy, no?"

A shadow crossed Leopold's face. Was she still thinking about switching jobs?

"Stop thinking about things you shouldn't."

Aurelia rolled her eyes. Just as birds choose the best trees to nest in, why would she settle for mediocrity?

"I'll send over the work report tomorrow morning. Anything else you need, Mr. Leopold?"

A hint of annoyance flashed in Leopold's eyes. He narrowed them slightly, his icy gaze more chilling than before.

Was she being deliberately obtuse today?

He was clearly trying to extend an olive branch, a chance for her to smooth things over. Could she really not see it?

"Don't you have anything you want to say to me?"

Aurelia paused, her gaze locked on his. The realization dawned on her quickly.

If the big boss was offering her a chance to make peace, she'd have to be a fool not to take it.

"Mr. Leopold, thank you for the handbag you gave me. It's beautiful."

Leopold stiffened, a dark glint flashing in his eyes.

Kevin actually dared to go against his orders!
