Was she taking shower too slow?
Just as she was about to say something to lighten the mood, Leopold threw his iPhone onto the table with a thud.
"When did you become Elowen's right-hand woman?" he demanded, his voice icy.
Aurelia's heart skipped a beat. She glanced at the WhatsApp message on the screen. Damn, he knew.
"I just feel sorry for her. Her love for you is genuine, unlike some other people," she defended.
Leopold stared at her, his eyes full of mockery. "I never would have pegged you for a saint."
His voice was cold and it sent shivers down her spine.
Great, was she going to be his punching bag now? Aurelia thought.
"Girls help girls, especially when we've been rejected by the same guy. It's only natural we'd empathize with each other."
Leopold choked, his face turning ashen.
Someday this woman was going to drive him crazy.
"How come you never empathize with me?"
Aurelia made a face and replied, "Well, you're a high and mighty CEO, filthy rich, and absolutely brilliant. You're admired by everyone. There's nothing for me to empathize with."
She felt no sympathy for his 'problems' of having too much money or too many women to handle.
Leopold reached out and covered her head with his large hand, his eyes cold and piercing, as if he could see right through her. "Don't be too smart for your own good. If you're not careful, you might end up shooting yourself in the foot."
Aurelia frowned. If Elowen were to be kicked out of the picture and Evelyn became the CEO's wife, she'd be the one crying!
