The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 248

If Leopold believed her, that would be a wonder. As a cunning girl, how many of her words could be trusted?

He held her chin, forcing her to look him straight in the eye. His gaze was penetrating, scanning her face as if he wanted to uncover all her secrets.

“Did you really tell my mother everything?”

Aurelia was nervous, fearful she might give herself away. She was struggling to maintain her composure. “Yes.” She nodded, “My parents are both well-educated. They are more open-minded than most, and they might not approve of our actions, but they accepted it.”

Leopold fell silent, his expression inscrutable.

After a while, he muttered, “Jolin agreed to your divorce and remarriage?”

Aurelia noticed his change in tone and grew more nervous, “My mother even knows about your engagement with Evelyn, and as the saying goes, you can’t force someone to love you. Since you have someone else in your heart, I should plan for my future too.”

Leopold was angry, a rage gathering in his eyes, “You should plan for the future, but don’t miscalculate.”

She shrugged, showing a nonchalant smile, “As a pragmatic person, I am always down-to-earth and never over-ambitious. How could I miscalculate?”

As long as she didn't pin any hopes on him, there would be no surprises, no hurt.

Leopold's eyebrows tightened. In his view, her words were negative.

Kevin was right, in some ways, she didn't have the slightest ambition, she was just waiting for opportunities to come to her, and Arnold was that opportunity.

“Don’t forget that I have the final say in who you will be with.”

At this, Aurelia was furious.

“Don’t forget, in exchange, your wife has to be sterilized. But I heard Evelyn is actively trying to get pregnant.”
