A storm of emotions raged in Aurelia's heart, refusing to subside.
She remembered Leopold's words: Every accident might hide a conspiracy!
After leaving the doctor's office, she immediately went to the maternity ward to find the nurse who assisted in childbirth that day.
The nurse happened to be on duty. She recalled, "The second child cried once and then stopped after being born. Dr. Karol said the baby had inhaled amniotic fluid and was in bad shape. She rushed to the ICU immediately. Since you had passed out, my colleague and I stayed with you in the delivery room, fearing something might happen to you. As for what happened in the ICU, we have no idea, only Dr. Karol was present."
Aurelia wandered into the elevator in a daze, with Jolin following behind.
Knowing that her daughter was still struggling with the grief of losing her child, she could only gently comfort her, "Don't think about it anymore, Aurelia. You can still have more children in the future."
Aurelia cast her eyes down. According to the nurse's description, there didn't seem to be anything suspicious. Everything was a regular procedure.
The baby did cry once. Was it her inability to let go of her child that kept her restless and lost in thought?
Karol was dead. Even if she made a mistake during the rescue, what could be done about it now?
With these thoughts, she let out a heavy sigh.
Jelena texted her: [Aurelia, congratulations on completing your recovery! There's a pajama party tonight, want to come and have some fun?]
Aurelia wasn't keen on going as she wasn't in the best mood, but Jolin saw this and advised her, "Go and have some fun. The baby has Laura and me to look after her and we have plenty of bodyguards at home. Don't worry."
Jolin was worried that Aurelia would not be able to move on from the loss of her child and was hoping that going out and having some fun might help relieve her sorrow.
After some hesitation, Aurelia agreed.
After dropping Jolin off at the villa, she headed to the party.
Surrounded by mountains and clear waters, it was an ideal vacation spot.
