The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 3

Aurelia's nerves were suddenly on high alert.

A mugging?-

How blind could they be?

She was wearing cheap clothes, each piece under twenty bucks, so she didn't look like a wealthy person at all.

"Sir, I'm broke. Not a single dime in my account and I'm drowning in debt. Show some mercy, will you?"

"Enough chatter."

The thug, with a face like a storm cloud, urged her forward, towards a parked black Honda.

Just as he was about to shove her into the vehicle, a sharp blade was held against his throat.

"Want to play a game? Who dies first?"

The thug shivered, before he could react, his knife-holding hand was seized.

With a forceful tug, pain shot through the thug's hand making him shriek like a stuck pig.

Too terrified to move, Aurelia was handed over to a man in black and escorted into a silver Rolls-Royce.

Inside the car was a man.

His tall and erect posture, his handsome face, if it wasn't Leopold, who else could it be?

"Mr... Mr. Leopold!"

Her nerves tightened further.

Apart from not mugging people, the big boss was probably just as dangerous as a bandit.

His face was as cold as ice.

Leopold's cool gaze swept over her still-flat belly.

"I hear you're carrying my child?"

His straightforwardness caught Aurelia off guard.

"It was... a medical accident. I'm a victim too."

She curled up in the corner, lowered her gaze, not daring to meet his eyes. His stare was too piercing, as if he wanted to shatter her.

A mocking smile crept onto Leopold's face.

Where was the audacity she had shown in the elevator?

"I've arranged a doctor's appointment for you tomorrow to terminate the pregnancy."

What?

Aurelia was taken aback.

He wanted to abort the baby?

Wasn't his fiancée eager for her to give birth?

Hadn't they reached a consensus?

"After all, it's your baby. I'll follow your decision."

She said nothing more. Since he had made the decision, there was no need for her to struggle. It was a relief.

Leopold squinted slightly. His deep eyes revealed a hint of surprise.

"Do you have any requests?"

He had heard from his subordinates at Astral Enterprises Design Department that this woman was greedy and treated money like her lifeblood. This was a golden opportunity for her to make demands and he was sure she wouldn't miss out.

Aurelia pursed her lips.

How dare she make demands of the big boss?

Besides, he was a victim too. If she wanted compensation, she should go to the hospital.

"You won't fire me over this, will you?"

Leopold paused, "I always keep my personal life separate from work."

"That's good. As long as I can keep my job, I have no other requests."

Aurelia stuck out her tongue.

She had fought tooth and nail to get into Astral Enterprises. This job was as important to her as life itself.

Leopold was surprised. This was completely different from what he had anticipated.

Had this woman changed her mind, or was she playing the long game?

Remembering how she had tried to seduce him in the elevator, he thought the latter was more likely.

She was a calculating one.

The car pulled into a villa in the suburbs.

"Stay here tonight. Tomorrow morning, I'll take you to the hospital."

"Okay." Aurelia obediently followed the housemaid upstairs.

She guessed that the big boss was worried about her taking off with his baby, that's why he had her "locked up" here.

Was she that stupid?

Leopold sat down on the sofa and sipped his coffee.

His subordinate Kevin came in.

"Mr. Leopold, the man who kidnapped Ms. Aurelia has confessed. He was instructed by Ms. Elowen. I've brought Ms. Elowen here."

Leopold had suspected as much.

As soon as Elowen came in, she started crying, her acting worthy of an Oscar winner.

She had planned to act preemptively, kill that woman before Leopold discovered the truth, but he was one step ahead.

"Leopold, I didn't mean to deceive you. I was worried that woman would use the child to blackmail you. That's why I planned to control her first, and then tell you the truth."

Leopold stirred his coffee, his words as cold as ice. "You don't need to worry. Tomorrow, I will take her for an abortion."

Elowen was taken aback, "You're aborting the baby?"

"What else?" Leopold arched his brow, his expression extremely cold.

Elowen couldn't believe it, fearing Leopold was lying.

"That might be your only healthy child."

Leopold's eyes narrowed, a chilling aura radiating from him.

"Not every woman is qualified to bear my child."

His gaze shifted to Elowen, a cold light passing over her face, sharp as a knife.

Elowen shivered, "That's a good thing. It saves you from being entangled by that woman."

Of course, this was good news for her. Otherwise, she would have had to find a way to kill that woman.

While they were talking, Aurelia was eavesdropping from the staircase.

In the eyes of the big boss, she was just a low-level employee, insignificant. How could he allow her to give birth to his child?

She knew her place. Since it was a mistake, it should be corrected.

Early the next morning, she was taken to the hospital.

She was calm initially, but once she was on the operating table and saw the sharp surgical knife, she started to panic.

The doctor picked up the knife, "Are you ready?"

Her heart skipped a beat.
