Slowly moving her heavy eyelids, she saw the helicopter in the near distance.
A man's voice started to become clearer, “Aurelia, don’t be afraid, I’m coming!”
It was Leopold! It really was him! Tears immediately welled up in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
When those men wanted to use her as bait, she almost laughed. Leopold wasn’t crazy, why on earth would he risk everything to save an insignificant woman from far away? But he really did come, why?
She couldn’t understand, there wasn’t time to think any more, because she was strapped with a bomb.
It was a trap, while the enemies were hiding on the island, watching her. As soon as he got close, they would press the remote and detonate the bomb. She couldn’t let him get on the boat.
If someone had to die, it should just be her!
“Leopold—don’t come over—I have a bomb—”
Leopold knew, but he still fearlessly jumped down from the helicopter, leaping into the raging waves, swimming towards the sailboat. He had already put life and death aside. Today, he must save his woman. Whether it was God or the devil, no one could take her away from him.
Kevin and the bodyguards followed closely behind.
Tears blurred Aurelia's vision as she screamed out, “Don’t come over, Leopold, please, I beg you! You can’t die, you have to save Liam, you have to take care of Kane! Our children can’t be orphans!”
Watching him get closer and closer, she burst into tears. Suddenly, she thought of the ring on her hand, inside of which was a sharp blade.
She quickly pressed the switch, and the blade sprang out.
She cut the rope with all her might, and soon, the rope was severed.
She held onto the mast, looking at the turbulent sea, many faces flashed through her mind like a slideshow, her mom, dad, Avery, Leopold, Kane, Liam, Arnold, Laura... She knew that jumping down would mean certain death. She didn’t want to die, she wanted to live well, to see Kane and Liam grow up, to become the brightest star in the world of jewelry… but she had no way out.
As Leopold reached the side of the boat, seeing Aurelia standing by the mast, he realized what she was about to do, a sharp pang of fear seemed to freeze his blood.
