Getting a divorce was easier said than done.
She was utterly lost about her future.
Could it be that she and Arnold were destined to be star-crossed lovers?
"Aurelia, I'll be getting a divorce soon. Wait for me, and don't leave me, okay?" His voice was filled with fear.
A bitter smile slowly surfaced on her face, "I'll be here. I'm not going anywhere. Don't worry. Taking care of your mom should be the most important thing right now."
He buried his face in her hair, savoring her intoxicating scent, "Aurelia, I love you. I won't love anyone else in this lifetime."
Aurelia's heart seemed to sink into the icy ocean, devoid of light, warmth, and any semblance of hope for the future.
The next day.
She composed herself and went to Astral Enterprises. Work was now her only solace.
Her entrance into the building immediately attracted everyone's attention.
"Oh my god, it's Aurelia. Aurelia is back."
"We should call her Mrs. Stirling!"
"Right, Mrs. Stirling."
Her colleagues came over to greet her one by one.
"Good morning, Mrs. Stirling."
"Mrs. Stirling, you're finally back."
"Seeing you safe and sound is a relief to us all."
This was the scene Aurelia feared the most. It’s so awkward.
"Everyone, please just call me by my name, like before. No more Mrs. Stirling, please."
