After the party, on the way home, Jelena was bristling with indignation.
"That Leopold has outdone himself this time. He's become a person I don't recognize. He's like a biggest jerk among jerks."
Aurelia was just as confused. Her mind was a turbulent sea of doubt.
If Leopold loved Megan so much that he was willing to divorce for her, why was he now tangled up with a social media influencer? And sneaking off to some motel?
It just didn't add up!
While she pondered, Jelena's voice cut through her thoughts. "Aurelia, how can you tolerate such a jerk like Leopold? Are you not divorcing him because Arnold hurt you?"
Aurelia let out a heavy sigh, "It's a whole different world in the upper class. I have to think about my child too. If I leave, who will protect Kane?"
Jelena, childless herself, couldn't understand her point of view. Sure, children are important, but so is one's own life.
"Aurelia, you're in your twenties, still so young. You can't let this jerk ruin your life. Once Arnold gets divorced, you should leave Leopold too."
Aurelia lowered her gaze, saying, "Arnold and I are over, we're just friends now."
Jelena wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
Between Arnold and Leopold, her cousin truly loved Arnold, didn't she?
The deeper the love, the deeper the hurt.
She didn't love Leopold, so she could tolerate his infidelity?
"You know, Elvis Cooper seems really into you. Why not consider him?" Jelena asked.
Aurelia choked on her coffee.
