She greeted with a polite smile, oblivious to the fact that Leopold was in the adjacent booth, watching the live feed.
He clasped his forehead, feeling so speechless.
True to her nature, she was a woman with a thousand tricks up her sleeve, her mind filled with all sorts of offbeat ideas that even he couldn't fathom.
Kevin cautiously said, "It seems that Mrs. Stirling gets along quite well with everyone."
Leopold's lips twitched, "Is that a good thing?"
The more harmonious, the more it suggested that she didn't care. Maybe, she never cared about him at all!
Kevin sighed, "I'm just worried that Mrs. Stirling might act impulsively and do something irreversible, just like three years ago."
This hit Leopold's sore spot, his deepest fear.
Aurelia could always do something beyond his expectations, something he couldn't control.
In the adjacent booth, Aurelia had gone to the restroom. As she returned and was about to push open the door of the booth, a deep voice came from behind, "Aurelia, what a coincidence, you're here too."
Turning around, Aurelia smiled slightly, "Mr. Cooper, it's indeed a coincidence."
"We've been running into each other quite often recently. I guess we're becoming more connected." Elvis hooked a charming smile at the corner of his mouth.
Aurelia chuckled, a hint of teasing in her eyes, "I dare not be too connected to you, Mr. Cooper, or Melissa might get the wrong idea."
Elvis shrugged, "I've got nothing to do with her, not even friends."
Melissa was never his type.
Aurelia flicked a loose strand of hair from her face, aware that Melissa was in the booth. If Melissa heard this, she would likely burst into tears.
"Although Melissa has a bit of a temper, she genuinely cares about you. Otherwise, she wouldn't have dragged herself to the tail end of her youth."
Elvis revealed a sarcastic smile, "You know what? The Stirling family has a common problem. What they can't have is what they want the most. They will do anything to get it. It doesn't mean they love you, it's just for the sense of achievement they get from conquest. Once they get you, you're unimportant."
His words were a harsh truth, striking Aurelia's most sensitive spot. Wasn't Leopold just like that?
