The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 526

Aurelia regarded him, her gaze softening as if she was looking at a kid.

She hoped she was wrong. Skyler truly seemed like an emotionally immature man-child, having nothing to do with the notorious AK Group.

"Skyler, it's getting late. I should be heading home."

"Can I call you?" Skyler asked, picking up his smartwatch.

"Sure." Aurelia gave him her number.

He input it seriously into his watch and reciprocated by sharing his own number.

Before leaving, Aurelia made a point to bid farewell to his friends. That made him incredibly happy. Aurelia was the first person who cared about his friends.

Once in the car, Aurelia turned to Yuna, "From your experience as a special forces soldier, do you think Skyler is genuinely immature, or is he pretending?"

"I haven't spotted any slip-ups yet. If he's acting, he's damn good at it," Yuna responded, her tone shifting, "But most people who join these crime syndicates do have some sort of unique background or psychological issues."

Aurelia nodded slightly, knowing she needed to observe more. If he was pretending, he would eventually slip up.

As she pondered, Yuna spoke again, "How coincidental that we bumped into him right outside the grocery store?"

"The hotel is nearby, so it's possible. It's good in a way, more opportunities to interact with him help in finding more clues," reasoned Aurelia.

If he was pretending, he would be extra careful around Leopold, making sure not to give himself away. He knew Leopold was shrewd and could pick up on the slightest hint.

But she was different, playing the fool to lull him into a false sense of security.

If she could eliminate him as a suspect, then Fredric and Leopold’s second brother would be the primary suspects.

She had never met Leopold’s second brother of the Stirling family, so she needed to have Leopold investigate him discreetly.

The next day, Jessica invited Hanson to the Stirling family's secondary residence, Solitude Mountain Resort.
