For Aurelia, the idea of Megan suffering from somnambulism was troubling, but not something she desired to exploit. Her moral compass simply wouldn't allow it.
Even with a video as evidence, she wouldn't dream of sending it to Evelyn.
She knew all too well that it would become the talk of the town among the high society elite if she sent the video to Evelyn.
[You should really talk to her family, persuade her to get proper treatment. She should stop thinking it's someone else who's harming her, and if she keeps this up, she could have a breakdown. That would be a real mess.]
[She's cursing your name at home, vowing revenge, even threatening your life. Watch your back.]
Aurelia snorted with a hint of mockery, [I'm the perfect scapegoat, who else but me?]
She wasn't about to sit around waiting for disaster. She was ready to face whatever came head-on.
Meanwhile, Megan was fuming. She had become the laughingstock of the elite, as exposed as a turkey on Thanksgiving. The higher she had soared, the harder her fall. Everyone was betting on when she'd be shown the door.
Hellbent on revenge, Megan considered seeking out a voodoo priest to curse Aurelia, to disfigure her into a creature of nightmares.
That evening, Leopold showed up, and they reveled in their private world within the confines of his car.
"Who leaked Megan's secret?"
"Evelyn," Leopold said gravely, having traced the leak's IP address right back to Megan's place. There was no doubt it was Evelyn's doing.
Aurelia gasped, "She’s even against her own sister, such betrayal."
If she had sent that sleepwalking video, it would probably be viral by now.
"Now Megan's out for blood, trying to pin this whole mess on me. I'm wondering if she's truly sleepwalking, or if it's all an act she's put on with her accomplice, just to frame me. Otherwise, who could pull off such a stunt?"
