Leopold spoke with a frosty edge to his voice, "Stop dragging Aurelia into this every chance you get. Isn't poisoning your and AK Group's forte? An undetectable poison that even doctors can't trace. If not AK Group, then who else could craft such a thing? Think hard about which of your cronies would want you dead."
"It was Aurelia, and it had to be. You have to believe me," Megan croaked desperately.
Leopold loomed over her, his gaze icy.
The doctors hadn't confirmed poisoning yet; her blood tests showed no trace of toxins.
If it truly was poison, it was a masterful concoction.
Aurelia with a poison expert? Unlikely, unless...
"If Aurelia had that kind of skill, you'd die. If you don't want to end up there, you'd better tell me who's your new contact. I need the antidote, or not even the best doctors will save you."
Megan shook her head frantically. She had already phoned Jewel, who assured her that AK Group wasn't involved and that their labs didn't stock any such poison.
"AK Group doesn't have this poison, I swear. Please, you have to believe me."
"Quit being stubborn," Leopold snapped before walking away.
Today, Aurelia took a day off to bring William to the Stirling Mansion, joining Kane for some fun.
The kids busied themselves with their robots in the playroom. Meanwhile, she sat on the patio, savoring an exquisite afternoon tea.
Leopold walked in and settled into the chair beside her.
"What did you send Yuna to the black market for?" he asked.
Aurelia brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, responded indifferently, "One goes to the black market for things they can't buy in the open."
Leopold wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "Using them to make some special medicine? You are becoming quite a capable woman, honey. But, couldn't you have discussed it with me first?"
