The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 933

Aurelia had no idea what to do as she confronted the situation with irritation and disbelief. "So, I'm supposed to carry the can while waiting for Mr. Leopold to come home?"

Leopold was no stranger to being the fall guy. It was a role he'd played for far too long.

"Sucking it up and taking one for the team. That’s something your beloved husband does on the regular. Consider this a bit of marital harmony," he quipped.

Aurelia rolled her eyes at him. "When have you sucked it up? I must have missed the memo."

He let out a heavy sigh. "Isn't that what I'm doing right now? Everyone thinks I'm a cad, a playboy like my father."

She pulled a face. "Somehow, I feel that's not far from the truth."

Leopold's fingers came to rest under her chin, his gaze intense and stern. "The whole world might get me wrong, but I can't stand the thought of you misunderstanding me."

"I'll be the judge of that," Aurelia said, shoving a piece of pancake into his mouth, her gesture bordering on flirtatious.

He smiled softly. "I get the feeling you do trust me, though."

Her gaze was teasingly skeptical. "And what made you think that way?"

His devilishly handsome face leaned in close, almost touching hers. "I've been as pure as a knight in shining armor for you. I haven't touched another woman except for you."

Aurelia found it hard to believe he could be so disciplined. It was like claiming to be the first man in history to honor all the codes of chivalry.

But every time he saw her, he was ravenous, a hunger in his eyes that suggested he hadn't been satisfying his sexual needs elsewhere. If he had been, he wouldn't be so desperate.

"I might trust you a little on that front, but don't let me down," she warned.

Leopold's eyes brightened at her response. The glimmer of hope that she might still trust him, even a little, ignited a spark of excitement within him. "I'd never betray your trust," said Leopold.
