Aurelia chuckled. "I was planning to visit Fredric's place today. Jessica was worried you guys would get bored, so she called me to keep you company."
Speaking through a mouthful of fruit, Skyler admitted, "Angel, it'd be totally dull without you. Nobody else to hang out with."
Jessica smiled gently. "The roses in Harmony Gardens are in full bloom. How about we all go there, maybe talk a walk around and enjoy the flowers?"
"Sounds great," the young crowd nodded in agreement.
Jessica preferred solitude and usually avoided the hustle and bustle. So, during gatherings, she'd let the kids entertain the guests while she enjoyed some quiet time in her room.
However, the gathering had a purpose, which required her direct involvement.
Everyone stood up and started walking toward the Harmony Gardens.
Tanya cast a sidelong glance at Aurelia.
She wasn't fond of Skyler and Aurelia being close but couldn't let it show.
She was a sly one, adept at hiding her true feelings.
The Harmony Gardens were a sight to behold, with many roses blooming proudly, their beauty untainted by the surrounding mud.
Leopold stayed close to Jessica, unnoticed by the others. After all, he was just a bodyguard.
Aurelia envied his ability to blend in completely unrecognized.
Once they were in the garden, a gentle breeze wafted over them, bringing with it the coolness of the water and the subtle fragrance of the roses, refreshing to the soul.
Leah walked in the front, and when she neared a rose, she tugged at Skyler's arm. "Skyler, I want a rose."
"I'll get it for you." Skyler rolled up his sleeves.
