Would people like that really keep their promise?
Was there any morality to speak of in this line of business?
Nicole walked over and sat in an uncomfortable chair.
"Something suddenly went wrong after so many years of cooperation. Although I don't know what happened, perhaps this might be someone deliberately sowing discord.”
Falcon was stunned. He smiled.
"Who says it isn't? But those who came into contact with the goods are Clayton’s people and my own people. Who would be the one messing things up?”
"Then why are you so certain that Clayton did it?"
Nicole asked back.
Falcon narrowed his eyes, took a puff of his cigarette, and spit it out.
He stared at Nicole.
"Mediania wants to use Clayton's test base, so they're bound to clean up his business completely. Clayton has found a more reliable backer and wants to leave his old friends behind, so he has no choice but to create an opportunity for us to turn against each other, right? Otherwise, would he pay for the damages? Ms. Stanton, you need to know that in our line of business, we don't rely on contracts. If there’s a breach of contract, the penalty isn't money but someone's life."
His voice was cold and sharp, but he answered Nicole's questions patiently.
"Don’t worry. This matter will be over once Clayton comes and compensates my two brothers’ lives.”
Nicole gasped.
"Compensate with his life?!"
Falcon glanced at her with a bit of indifference.
"Two of my brothers lost their lives. He’s not at a loss if I only take his life, right?"
Nicole fell silent.
She looked away.
Clayton might as well not come.
Suddenly, Nicole thought of Ingrid.
"Why is Ms. Ferguson here?"
Falcon sneered.
“She’s Tyler's woman. I've reached an agreement with Tyler, so to show his sincerity, he left his woman with me as a hostage. But it seems that Tyler doesn't like this woman very much. Why do I feel like I’m at a disadvantage in this situation?'
Nicole paused.
She heard of Tyler's name before.
It was related to Eric.
Was that man back in Mediania Tyler?
Nicole said, "You're working with Tyler? Aren’t you afraid that Tyler will betray you?"
Falcon raised his eyebrows.
"Mrs. Sloan, you know quite a lot, huh? I thought Mr. Sloan would be reluctant to let you know all these."
The corners of Nicole's mouth twitched, but she could not bring herself to smile.
"If I knew everything, why would I come here alone?"
Falcon pondered for a while, then nodded
That made sense.
Later, Falcon smiled again.
"Tyler wanted to swallow Mr. Sloan's business, but he's not so capable to manage it. If Tyler takes over that piece of pie in Southeast Asia, he'll die. Tyler diverting his attention to South Africa is nothing more than jealousy. Besides...”
Falcon hesitated to speak
Nicole looked at Falcon's eyes with doubt.
Falcon did not keep her in suspense.
"Tyler worked with Eric Ferguson. The woman just now is Eric's sister, and Eric promised to help Tyler expand his territory. That's why I agreed to cooperate with Tyler. Regardless of whether Clayton or Tyler wins in the future, it won’t affect my business!”
Nicole silently cursed that old fox.
However, her heart was heavy.
Eric cooperated with Tyler.
Was it real?
Nicole intuitively told herself that Eric was not someone who would compromise with despicable people.
However, could Eric just watch Ingrid and Quinn die?
So, everything was still unknown.
