The Deserted Rich Beauty novel Chapter 1985

A Small Favor

Nicole subconsciously glanced back, just in time to meet Grant's gaze.

In the next second, Grant looked away like he did not mean to look over.

Grant hung up the phone and came over.

His expression did not change. He just sat in his place and put down the phone.

Floyd waved his hand. “Come on, another round!”

It was rare that Floyd was so happy.

Grant refused. "Dad, Aida said that she has something on at the last minute and doesn’t have time to pick Levi up. We'll just let him eat at school."

Floyd was stunned. "How could you?

School food isn't nutritious! Haven’t you seen the recent news that says that all the ingredients they used were bad? Are you dumb, or are you his evil stepfather to let your son suffer like this?!"

Grant calmly lowered his head and shuffled the cards.

"Anyway, I'm not going."

Floyd threw down his cards and glared at Grant angrily.

'Then I’ll go!"

After saying that, Floyd yelled at the butler to prepare the car, saying that he wanted to go to Levi's school to pick him up in person.

They were missing a player, so they could not play anymore.

Clayton glanced meaningfully at Grant, and Grant glanced at Nicole lightly.

"You can pay for what I lost earlier since your husband won.”

Nicole's eyes widened. "Big Brother! I also lost a lot!"

Grant raised his eyebrows. "Well, your sister -in-law has been very strict with me recently."

Nicole was speechless.

She stood up and ran away without saying a word as she thought, Is he still my big brother?!'

Clayton lowered his head and laughed as he sorted out the cards slowly.

"Big Brother, do you have something to say to me?"

Grant gave him a deep look.

"Don't you know that your military base in

South Africa was bombed?'

Clayton smiled. "I'm aware. Someone informed me just now over the phone.”

Grant pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes.

Such a big thing was enough to cause a commotion, yet Clayton looked like he was not bothered and even planned to continue playing cards.

Grant was puzzled.

"Is this your plan?”

Clayton shook his head. "No, I’m guessing it's Tyler's doing. They only bombed an armory, but there's no ammunition inside. Those are all empty shells, >f%?PLT; there are only a few casualties."

This showed that Tyler was still afraid of Clayton and only wanted to give Clayton a warning and scare him.

Tyler did not want Clayton to be so arrogant.

Grant stared at Clayton unblinkingly. "It’s so sudden. Is he planning to make the next move? Or, he didn't expect that armory to be empty..."

Finally, Clayton raised his dark eyes and looked at Grant with a faint and gentle smile on his face.

Clayton was graceful as he shuffled the cards and put them aside. His shirt sleeves were slightly rolled up, revealing his fair wrist, and his veins were clearly visible.

No one could see through what Clayton was thinking.

"Big Brother, I promised Mr. Jensen that I would give the base to him with no hiccups. As for the armory, it's just a location. Tyler can have it if he wants it. Anyway, I've already transferred the goods and personnel. This world is so big, so how could he possibly find where I hid them?’

Clayton's voice was slightly cold and relaxed. Such a huge event happened with a snap of his finger.

Grant was a little stunned, and his expression was gloomy.

After a long time, Grant smiled lightly. His voice was deep and cold.

"Mr. Jensen just got the news and wanted to ask if you need help."

The corners of Clayton's mouth twitched as he thought, 'Help?'

Clayton did not respond.
