After a while, someone brought over a meal.
It was all of Nicole's favorite Medianian food.
Since Nicole could not move, Clayton slowly fed her. When the spoon was next to her mouth, Nicole gained an appetite from the soup's aroma.
Clayton finally smiled when Nicole was done eating.
Only then did Nicole realize that he had not eaten a single bite.
"Go out and eat..."
Did he not just say that he was hungry?
Why did he not touch the food?
Clayton smiled. "It's too troublesome to go out."
He then proceeded to finish her leftovers with gusto.
Nicole was not sleepy at all since she just woke up from a nap.
She watched as Clayton finished the food, packed up the boxes, and made himself a cup of coffee.
Nicole then realized that Clayton was planning to stay up all night with her.
She frowned and said, “Why are you drinking coffee at night?"
Clayton paused slightly, then smiled.
"It’s refreshing."
"Don't drink it. I'm afraid you'll die of exhaustion."
Nicole looked at him sincerely.
She had always followed Floyd's health care regime and could not stand that the people around her did not take care of their health.
Clayton's body stiffened. He sighed and glanced at her helplessly.
He was not yet at the point where he could die from exhaustion.
However, he did not retort and took the coffee over.
"Fine. I won't drink it. I'll just smell it."
Nicole did not stop him and smiled.
"Can you tell me what happened these days? How did you find me?"
Clayton said, "I found you by following Eric's boat."
Nicole frowned and was puzzled.
Clayton raised his eyebrows. "Someone wouldn't have taken you away just for revenge. I know Tyler's movement, so if it wasn't him, it meant that it was someone else. That person must have a motive for kidnapping you. No one came to me or your family for ransom, so I figure that it must be Eric Ferguson.”
When Clayton mentioned that name, his voice turned cold.
However, it was fleeting. Clayton still looked handsome and gentle.
It was as if Nicole had misheard.
"So, you got someone to watch him?”
Clayton curled his lips with a bit of disdain.
"Yeah. When he set sail after receiving the news, I felt that something was wrong, so I
got a diver to hide under his boat. That person was the one who rescued you after you fell into the sea.”
Nicole was silent for a moment before she took a deep breath.
In other words, if it was not for Clayton's vigilance =c!
However, Nicole still did not understand how she fell into the sea.
She remembered standing on the deck and falling into the sea in the next second without having any time to react.
The suffocating feeling came instantly.
Seeing Nicole's sudden change in expression, Clayton did not continue and held her hand.
"Are you afraid?' Clayton stared at Nicole's face intently for fear that something was wrong.
Nicole paused, nodded, and clutched the quilt tightly with her other hand.
"How did I fall into the sea? There are railings on the deck..."
Clayton's expression changed slightly, and his eyes turned cold.
"You didn't jump off by yourself?"
"Am I stupid?”
Nicole frowned. "I waited on that island for three days. Since Eric went, it meant that I still had a chance to survive. Even if he doesn’t care about me, there will be other opportunities to escape later. I also know that you’ll come to rescue me, so why would I jump into the sea?"
Did Angie think that she could use Tyler to scare Nicole?
Why would Nicole need to be afraid of someone who she got arrested?
Nicole was furious.
Clayton touched her shoulder to calm her down.
