Grant glanced at Clayton and laughed.
"That's true. Knowing her, she’ll consider stabbing someone in a non-critical position even if she's in a critical situation with a knife in hand.”
How could Nicole possibly kill someone?
It was also impossible for Nicole to coerce someone to kill themselves.
Clayton said, "Big Brother, I suspect that someone is behind this.”
"I think so too."
Grant took a deep breath.
He closed his eyes and groaned.
"But now, we don't have a lead to who the other party is. That person is hiding in the dark, and we’re an easy target."
Thus, they were in a passive position.
Clayton said a few words and returned to Nicole’s office.
Everyone in the office did not know what to believe about the rumors online. They were just interested to see the interaction between Clayton and Nicole.
They were all envious that Clayton accompanied Nicole at this time.
Grant figured that Nicole was in a bad mood, so he took away some of her work.
Nicole was sitting in front of her desk with her feet propped on the table. The stock price graph on the computer was changed into a sitcom.
This scene looked weird.
When Logan entered Nicole's office, he almost thought he had walked through the wrong door.
Nicole always had high standards of herself. The office was her sacred place, a paradise for her to build her wealth. Thus, she would not slack in here. The moment she walked into the office, she would wear her most expensive high heels.
As a result, this was what Logan saw.
Nicole glanced at Logan.
"Come in."
Logan walked in with a smile. He saw Clayton sitting on the sofa next to Nicole, holding a small hammer to crack some walnuts.
The walnut shell fell on the expensive carpet under his feet, but he did not even bat an eyelid and continued to deshell the walnuts, collecting them in the small dish next to him.
Logan was frightened when he saw this.
"President, the lawyer asked if you want to execute that document?"
Nicole raised her eyelids.
"Do they think that I'm not unlucky enough? I've become a suspect just because of that bit of shares. It's not even enough for my allowance, so why would I want it?"
Logan heard this :d%?UKU: responded." Okay, I'll tell the lawyer to give it up."
Clayton suddenly stopped what he was doing and looked up at Logan.
"Logan, since Zach Gilbert is dead, who will represent his company to continue executing the document?"
Logan paused.
“His company isn’t big, so he always had the final say. The deputy general manager and the like didn't have much say in things. Only successors have the right to continue executing the document, but Mr. Gilbert doesn’t have surviving parents..."
Logan frowned.
Nicole laughed.
"He has an illegitimate child that's currently in Kirsi’s womb. If nothing unexpected happens, this unborn child has the right to inheritance, and Kirsi will most likely be the child’s guardian to inherit all of Zach's property."
Nicole clicked her tongue and shook her head.
"I didn't expect that after such a roundabout, Kirsi would end up benefiting the most. When Mr. Gilbert was still alive, he transferred the property to her, and now that he’s dead, she could keep the property. What kind of luck does Kirsi have?"
She said it so casually, but Clayton took it seriously.
Clayton paused, put down the small hammer immediately, picked up his phone, and went to the inner lounge to make a call.
His expression was quite serious.
Nicole also felt that something was wrong.
As soon as Clayton came out, Nicole asked,
"Do you suspect Kirsi of killing Zach?"
Clayton raised his eyebrows. "No."
"Then why’d you mention this?"
"Isn't Kirsi pregnant? Logically speaking, it's uncertain that she can give birth to this child smoothly. Moreover, it's still a complicated process to verify that the child is indeed Mr. Gilbert’s. If Mr. Gilbert dies, she would lose her financial backer and her long-term source of income. She wouldn't be so stupid."
After Clayton said that, the office fell into silence.
Logan stood there without saying a word as if he was thinking about something.
