The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge (Anna and Justin) novel Chapter 2415

Yvonne looked at Jace with bloodshot eyes as she drove the gleaming blade straight toward Jace’s chest.

Back when she was following Christopher, the first thing she learned was how to deliver a lethal strike in the shortest time possible. Her moves did not need to be elegant, only deadly.

She hated seeing blood and loathed the idea of killing. For years, she had never once used the techniques she had been taught.

Now, this man was the first to push her to act!

But just as the tip of her dagger was about to strike Jace’s vital point, she hesitated.

A voice echoed in her mind—Drew’s anguished and sorrowful voice. “Yvonne, I’ve always thought Jace was my long-lost brother, Hugh! We miss him so much... We just want him to come back home!”

Yvonne widened her eyes, and her movements slowed as the keen edge of her blade grew dull.

That split-second of hesitation was all it took for the tide to turn.

Jace remained still; his expression was as cold as the depths of the ocean as he firmly grasped Yvonne’s delicate wrist and twisted it with force.

“Ah—!” Yvonne let out a muffled cry, her entire body drenched in cold sweat. The dagger fell from her hand with a clatter.

Before she could react, Jace yanked her toward him. Her back slammed hard into his chest, and his muscular forearm wrapped around her neck like an iron vise, completely immobilizing her.

Yvonne gasped for air, but her strength was rapidly waning. Her face flushed red as her breathing grew shallow and labored.

“You can’t even kill someone properly. You’re nothing but Christopher’s failed creation.” Jace spoke in a cold manner, his intense gaze locked onto Yvonne’s flushed face and her eyes growing increasingly unfocused.

He knew that if he applied a little more force, it would take less than a minute for Yvonne to suffocate to death.

Although the order was to capture her alive, he thought it might be better to end her right here.

After all, living could sometimes be far more agonizing than dying.

He understood Grant’s methods all too well.

“Hugh... H-Hugh…” Tears flowed from Yvonne’s crimson eyes as she clawed at his iron grip with trembling hands. “Please... wake up!”

‘Hugh. Here we go again with Hugh!’ Jace’s chest heaved rapidly, and a peculiar uneasiness seized him as if he were the one being choked.

“How many times do I have to tell you? I’m not Hugh!”

“But you...are…” Yvonne’s tear-filled eyes locked onto his, her lips trembling as she forced out her words. “Your family...is still waiting...for you to come home...”

The words “come home” jabbed at a deep-seated sore spot in Jace’s heart.
