The Divorcee Who Shines novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123 Slow Down, Honey

Ranita backed away.

Brendon leaned closer again, his breath falling on her skin, causing an itchy sensation. She wanted to back away even more.

Her ears turned red.

"You... let go!" Ranita was a little annoyed by Brendon's actions.

"I'm really sorry." Brendon was a responsible person and always felt he owed something to Ranita. His voice became softer as he said, "Let me stay here today to take care of you! Tell me what you want to eat and I'll have someone make it for you."

It was the weekend anyway; there was no need to go to work.

Ranita's heart throbbed fiercely.

She lowered her eyelids and teased him by asking, "Are you sure? What if Miss Murphy feels dizzy again or has a fever or pain in her hands or feet? Won't you go take care of her?"

Ranita was starting to dislike herself. She kept offering her sincere feelings only for them to be shattered time after time but she still couldn't let go.

"Ranita... are you jealous?" Brendon pinched her chin and forced her head up so she had no choice but look into his eyes that were black as night with curiosity written all over them.

Ranita felt stabbed in the heart; she could barely maintain expression on her face. "Mr. Stuart, are you kidding? How dare I be jealous?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Brendon's phone rang.

He took it out of his pocket and glanced at it; his expression changed slightly.

Curious about who called him this time around, Ranita peeked over and caught sight of the word "Shannon" on the screen which made her feel suffocated inside.
