The Divorcee Who Shines novel Chapter 140

Chapter 140 Clearing Things Up

She had kept giving in but now felt cornered.

Why did it seem like she was being bullied by someone who wasn't even part of their relationship?

Did they really think that they could push around someone who looked easygoing?!

"Miss Murphy," Ranita retorted sharply while holding back tears, "Your words are strange indeed! Brendon is my husband; where else would he sleep at night if not here?! Who else will take care of him besides me?! As far as whether or not I'm tired goes…that's between us married couples."

She paused before continuing sarcastically, "But since Miss Murphy seems so concerned about our private life…wouldn't it be better if we told each other which positions we use or how long we do it?"

As soon as the words left Ranita's mouth, Shannon's eyes welled up with tears making them look like deflated balloons.

"Ranita, I grew up with Brendon as childhood friends. I'm just concerned about him. Why do you have to be so harsh?" Shannon bit her lip, her voice pure and fragile like it could break at any moment. "You know our relationship with Brendon..."

Ranita felt disgusted inside.

This was too disgusting!

Ranita sneered coldly, "Don't make me laugh. You can shamelessly cling to my husband every day just because you grew up together? Everyone knows that men and women should not be intimate unless they are married or in a relationship. What about you? Miss Murphy, you come from a noble family; surely someone taught you that it's wrong to touch another woman's husband?"

Shannon turned pallid.

Her body shook uncontrollably, as if Ranita had stepped on her tail. Her eyes were full of misery and tears streamed down immediately.

"It wasn't like that... I never wanted to ruin your marriage... it was an accident..."

She willingly went into their bedroom and fooled around with him; how was that not ruining their marriage? What else could be considered ruining it?

Ranita couldn't believe how thick-skinned Shannon was.
