The Divorcee Who Shines novel Chapter 247

Chapter 247 Disgusting Beyond Words

"Okay, I'll give it a try!"

Since she had never really tried it before, Ranita decided to give it a shot. It was getting late, so Brendon called ahead and had the restaurant save a roast duck for them.

It looked delicious, but Ranita forgot that she was still in the early stages of morning sickness. As soon as she saw the food, waves of nausea hit her.

"Ugh!" Ranita couldn't hold back and rushed to the bathroom to vomit. When she came out, her face was pale and Brendon frowned at her.

"What's wrong? Why is your face so pale?"

"It's nothing... I just felt sick for a moment."

"You don't have acute gastritis again, do you? You've been skipping meals lately... let's eat something now and then I'll take you to see a doctor later! And don't wait until it gets worse like last time."

Ranita had experienced acute gastritis before but didn't go to the hospital until two days later when Brendon found her passed out in their office during overtime work. If he hadn't taken her to the hospital in time, things could have ended badly.

Thinking back on those times made Ranita smile wryly. Her pale face with lips curved into an awkward smile looked pitiful.

"You're still smiling?" Brendon scolded irritably but quickly ordered some light congee from the kitchen for her anyway.

"I'm really okay. There's no pain," said Ranita after much persuasion from Brendon not to go see a doctor yet again this time around.

After finishing one bowl of congee which filled up her stomach nicely, Ranita looked at all of the untouched dishes on their table with regret, "What a waste! I'm such an unlucky person who can never enjoy good food!"

Fortunately they didn't order too much or else it would've been even more wasteful than ever before.

Brendon saw how disappointed she was about not being able to finish everything, so he called over their waiter and asked him pack up everything left over, "We can eat them tonight without wasting anything."
