Cicely's gazes went blank for a moment, unable to respond.

Seeing her like this, Seth smiled faintly, his sarcastic tone making Cicely feel slightly awkward. "You're acting uninterested in me yet hoping I'd sacrifice for others because of you..."

Cicely frowned, avoiding Seth's handsome face and the close proximity between them. Seth's gaze rested on her smooth forehead, his voice cold, but his breath warm against her skin. "I've already rejected her once today, and tonight she clearly brought Mr. Harper to stir up trouble. Did you know? If I had agreed in the daytime, she might have offered me a couple of talented artists, but now... How many do you think she'll arrange for me?”

Cicely, however, just laughed at him, "After all, she's your friend's woman and now pregnant, don't you think you should lend a hand?"

Seth laughed coldly, "Are you sure I'll protect you and then help others gain benefits?"

"That's your business." With that, she pushed him hard, trying to shove him away.

But Seth stepped back before her, straightened up, and coldly eyed Chloe. "Since you mentioned what happened during the day, I agree. You sort out your husband's problem first."

Damon frowned, his piercing gaze still dangerously on Cicely. Seth moved forward a couple of steps, subtly blocking Damon's line of sight to Chloe. "If this continues, not many people can tolerate it, are you sure... you don't need to solve this problem?"

Seth's words made Chloe feel a bit awkward; she tugged at the corner of her mouth. She had a hunch that Cicely might be doing this on purpose, just to help her deal with Seth.

This had nothing to do with what happened during the day, she just brought it up at the right time, getting Seth to agree, and that was enough. But Seth was unpredictable, and she wasn't sure he would agree.

Although even if it failed, she still had Damon to help her.

She didn't expect him to agree; having her tactics exposed was indeed a bit awkward. After thinking for a while, she glanced at Seth again. This guy can be really smart sometimes.
