Michelle sneered, "Rosanna, your occasional scheming might work. But if you overdo it, things will eventually go south. You're always belittling others and boosting yourself. Don't you find it tiresome?"
"Belittling you? How could I? Isn't it the truth? Your ranking is indeed below mine!" Keira said.
"You!" Michelle stopped in her tracks, but was calmly pulled along by Keira.
"Rosanna, you think you're the champion now, that your fame has surpassed mine. So you've decided to drop the act?" Michelle asked.
By now, the two had ascended the podium. Keira withdrew her hand, maintaining some distance from Michelle and said disdainfully, "If that's what you think of me, I have nothing to say. If you feel uncomfortable being beneath me, I don't mind keeping my distance."
Michelle was almost driven mad by Keira's shameless behavior. How many high-profile people had Keira networked with using Michelle's fame when she had nothing? Now that she was successful, she was in a hurry to cut ties!
Such ingratitude was unbearable.
"Rosanna, you're too arrogant, not leaving yourself a way out. You will regret it one day!" Michelle said.
Keira scoffed, "We'll see."
From now on, she was the world champion, and more people would flatter her. She certainly wouldn't need Michelle.
Keira stepped onto the center of the award podium first, with Michelle, fuming and standing to her right.
Chloe ascended from the other side. Seeing the position of Keira and Michelle from afar, a sarcastic smile appeared under her veil.
Then she slowly approached, standing to Keira's left, maintaining a considerable distance. Such a significant distance made everyone in the audience feel awkward.
Keira glanced at her; her brow furrowed.
What was she trying to do?
The host then stepped forward to help adjust the positions, "Miss, could you please move a bit more to the center of the stage?"
Chloe shook her head, calmly saying, "The air there is too dirty. I'm afraid of getting infected."
Her words sounded offensive, and it was unclear exactly what she meant.
However. Michelle, standing to Keira's right, suddenly moved away, making it clear to everyone. The source of the so-called dirty air was Keira in the middle.
Keira's face immediately turned ashen.
She glared at Michelle. Hearing low laughter from the audience, her face turned pale!
The host's expression was a bit awkward, seemingly unable to persuade the two, and he simply proceeded to the next item, "Next up, let's welcome the world-renowned perfumer Rory to announce and present the third-place winner of the International Fragrance Contest!"
Amid the applause, Rory took the stage. He made a respectful speech, and then formally announced, "The third-place winner of this year's Fragrance Frenzy International Contest is 'Eternity'. Congratulations, Michelle!"
The applause from the audience was thunderous, but Michelle's face suddenly darkened.
Third place? Why third place?
Wasn't she second before?
Could it be?
She turned to look at the woman in white on her left, biting her lower lip tightly. Keira was looking at her, her eyes filled with schadenfreude and contempt.
Although Michelle was unwilling, she still accepted the trophy. Then, she slowly removed her mask, forcing herself to smile and deliver her acceptance speech.
Next was the presentation of the second-place award.
