The Indifferent Ex-Husband: Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate novel Chapter 337

As Kent was trying to get a clearer look, Brandon had already turned his head to watch Sophia and her daughter Theresa enter the boutique.

There was a tiny step at the entrance that Theresa didn't notice, and she stumbled a bit, nearly taking a tumble. Luckily, she didn't fall and Sophia caught her just in time.

But the little one seemed a bit shocked, freezing in place.

Sophia crouched down in front of her, leaning in for a hug.

"It's okay, Theresa, don't be scared, I'm here."

Her voice was so gentle and soft.

Theresa calmed down right away, but in her frantic grab during the stumble, she accidentally left a faint watermark on a silk scarf draped over a display mannequin.

Theresa saw it too.

"Mommy, this, it's dirty," she whispered, pointing at the watermark on the scarf, looking a bit lost.

"It's okay." Sophia soothingly stroked her hair. "You don't mean to, no need to beat yourself up about it."

Theresa nodded, not quite getting it but trying to understand.

"But," Sophia said, eyeing the watermark on the scarf and then looking at Theresa, "since we accidentally dirtied it, we can't let the shop assistant take the fall for our oopsie. How about we buy it, deal?"

Theresa nodded earnestly. "Okay."

She even seemed a bit thrilled, and the guilt and unease on her face vanished just like that.

Sophia couldn't help but chuckle and stroke her hair, seizing the moment to teach her. "So from now on, we watch our step, okay? Otherwise, you might take a spill and bonk your head just like you bumped into this mannequin here, and that would make me worried and sad."
