Sylvia's POV:
Having some doubts in my mind, I tried to calm down and asked him something that only the real Blair and I knew.
"Do you still remember the time you showed me howto usemypowerduringtheplacementexam?" Blair was tongue-tied. I was sure I caught him off guard with my sudden shift in conversation. But the good thing was that he naturally continued and told me how to mobilize and use my power.
I was relieved after hearing his explanation. It was the same as what Blair said before. This meant that the man before me was still Blair, but something was definitely wrong with him.
Just seeing the tiny black bug made me think of Noreen for some reason.
My heart skipped a beat. My concerns for Blair's well-being led me to inquire about his current physical condition.
Blair looked at me strangely as he remarked, "Nothing is wrong with me. Everything is normal, except that I have a bigger appetite."
To some extent, I found this to be a relief. He was apparently healthy because his eating and sleeping habits were normal. As such, I ruled out the possibility of Noreen being behind this.
But the existence of the little black bug was definitely not an accident. Was it a sequela after the curse was broken?
"What's wrong, Sylvia? You don't look so good," Blair asked with evident concern in his tone.
A question finally came out of my mouth after a moment's hesitation. "Blair, is it possible that you haven't really gotten rid of the curse?"
Suddenly, a frosty air engulfed the air around us. Blair studied me for a moment before asking, "Sylvia, do you think I'm joking?"
"What are you talking about?" I had no idea what was weighing on his mind. I just found his odd behavior to be really irritating.
"You thought I was joking when I asked you to give me a chance to pursue you. You even thought there was something wrong with my brain." There was no denying it---Blair now looked nothing like the lively and handsome young man he used to be.
