Charlie knew that his father-in-law had a lot of dissatisfaction with Elaine. All these dissatisfactions had been accumulated throughout the years they had lived together.

Even more so when Matilda had returned to the country, his father-in-law had seen that Matilda was s o much better than Elaine, and this only made him even more dissatisfied with Elaine.

It was to the point that he wanted to divorce his wife, Elaine, but she didn't give him the chance, so naturally, he despised her even more now.

Although his intention was good, Charlie didn't think that it would be appropriate for him, especially when i t came to giving Elaine a fake set of skincare products. It was quite embarrassing to present someone else with something fake.

It was not because he was afraid that Elaine would find out that the products were fake, but instead, he was more afraid of what his wife would think of him i f she found out that he had presented her mother with fake goods. 4

Jacob nodded and replied, "By the way Charlie, I won't

be having dinner at home tonight. It just so happens that my university friends and I are having dinner together tonight." 1

Charlie then proceeded to drive back to Thompson First. As he drove his car into the yard, he saw his wife, Claire's car parked at home. It seemed as though his wife was done with her work for the day.

Charlie parked his car and walked into the house holding two sets of skincare products. As he entered the house, he saw Elaine sitting cross-legged on the couch in the living room watching television. Claire, o n the other hand, had just washed some freshly picked strawberries from the garden and had brought them out of the kitchen. 5

Upon seeing Charlie, Claire asked, "Husband, why did you leave so early in the morning? Plus, you've only returned so late in the evening.” s

Charlie raised the two gift baskets which he was holding in his hands and said with a smile, "I went to get some skincare products for you and mother, and i n the meantime, I helped the owner check their Feng Shui alignment." 5
