As soon as Charlie had driven away, Jacob grew a little impatient and hastened his pace.
In truth, ever since Matilda had told him on the phone that she was returning to Oskia, his heart had been filled with thoughts of Matilda.
After Matilda had returned to Oskia, it had ignited the spark that had been buried in his heart for so many years.
In the recent two to three decades, Jacob's happiest moment was when Matilda had returned. When they were at his house and cooked together. That moment when Matilda and himself were embracing in the kitchen.
However, Matilda was a very sensible person. She knew that Jacob and Elaine were yet to divorce, therefore, she had always kept a strong sense of rationality and was unwilling to make any substantial progress with Jacob.
Jacob often found himself distressed over this, but he had never had a chance to find a breakthrough for their relationship.
Although Jacob had been very useless all his life, he was, at the very least, a normal man. He had been
looking forward to being with Matilda for so many years. He was not only obsessed with her emotionally, but he also yearned for her physically. 4
Therefore, he had always been eager to relive his old dreams with his very first love, but the occasion where the two of them had the most contact was when they were both at the Senior University. Due to this, he had had to approach her with courtesy and politeness.
However, things were different this time.
Matilda had suddenly fallen ill and had a fever, and there was no one around to take care of her. Jacob felt that a woman was the most vulnerable during this time of need. She needed someone who could provide her with constant support.
Coupled with the fact that the two of them had a history where they still held feelings for one another and they still do till this very day, in this case, it would be even easier for them to get sexually intimate with one another. 3
Therefore, Jacob hurriedly made his way over to her house as he looked forward to today's breakthrough. 1
As for Elaine, he wasn't even bothered to think about her, nor did he even want to think about it.
