When Yolden heard Autumn's words, it took him a while to recover from his surprise.
He subconsciously blurted out, "You don't like girls?! If you don't like girls, could it be that you actually like boys, then?!"
Autumn did not expect that her father would still look so shocked after hearing her reply. So, she could not help but ask, "Dad... do you think that I should like boys or girls, then?" 2
Yolden immediately looked very pleased, and he was incessantly happy as he said, "From my point of view a s your father, of course I think that it would be better for you to like boys!"
After he was done speaking, Yolden hurriedly looked a t Charlie before he blurted out, "Charlie, forget about that girl named Sophie. You should see if there are any suitable and talented young men around you. If there is one, you should introduce him to Autumn!" 4
Charlie smiled faintly, nodded, and said, "Okay, sure!
I'll pay more attention to it, then."
Autumn had an awkward expression on her face as she said, "Dad, I do not have any such plans for that for the time being. Mr. Wade took such a big risk to
rescue me. So, I'll have to focus all of my attention on my work first. I'll wait for two years before I start thinking about getting into a relationship." 4
Yolden had a smile on his face as he said, "Oh! As long as you say that you like boys, I feel much more at ease. If you want to wait for another two years, we can wait for another two years, then. You can take your time!"
After Yolden was done speaking, he hastened to pour another glass of liquor as he said to Charlie, "Come, Charlie. Drink another glass of liquor with me. It is truly two happy events happening at the same time for me today! Good things indeed come in pairs!"
Charlie naturally knew why Yolden was so happy. So, he smiled as he raised his wine glass and said, "Since Uncle Hart is so happy today, we can drink a few more glasses, then."
After drinking and socializing more, Yolden got drunker and drunker.
By the time they were almost finished with their meal, Yolden was already in a daze.
When Charlie saw that the meal and liquor were almost finished, he said to Autumn, "Autumn, why don't we stop here today? I'll ask Albert to send you and Uncle Hart home. The both of you should rest well after going back."
Autumn nodded gently before she spoke up and asked, “Mr. Wade, do you have time tonight? I'd like to invite you to dinner alone so that I can show you my
appreciation." 7
