2:00 pm.
Janus's flight landed at Hong Kong Airport on time.
At this time, Janus was sitting in the window seat, and he had mixed feelings.
He had been away from Hong Kong for too long, and the scenery outside the window no longer felt familiar to him. The only thing that he was familiar with was the traditional characters of the Hong Kong dialect that could be seen everywhere.
These traditional characters of the Hong Kong dialect reminded him that he had finally returned to his hometown after twenty years.
However, what he regretted was that he probably would not have the opportunity to get reacquainted with Hong Kong which he had left behind for twenty years now. His life would probably begin entering a countdown the moment he landed in Hong Kong.
At this time, a male flight attendant came over to him and reminded him, "Mr.
Campbell, according to the regulations, you should not get off the plane immediately. You'll have to wait for all the other passengers to get off the plane first. After that, I will guide you and hand you over to the Hong Kong customs in person. I hope that you can understand.”
Janus nodded and smiled slightly as he said, "Okay, thank you."
Although Janus was being forcibly repatriated by the United States, he was not a prisoner, so he was being repatriated without any American police officers or immigration officers accompanying him.
According to the procedures in the United States, since it was repatriation, the passport information of the deportee would be blacklisted, and the person would then be banned from entering the United States for five years, ten years, or for life. After that, the person would then be arranged to be on a return flight directly.
The rest of the matter would have nothing to do with the United States, then.
Therefore, the United States immigration department had put Janus on the departing plane and then handed Janus and his documents over to the airline staff. The airline staff would then hand him and the documents over to the Hong Kong customs after getting off the plane, and the repatriation process would then be
completed.
After all the passengers had gotten off the plane, the flight attendant came to Janus again and said politely, "Mr. Campbell, please come with me."
"Okay.” Janus nodded slightly, stood up, and took his carry-on luggage from the luggage rack above his head.
After that, he got off the plane with the flight attendant.
After crossing the corridor bridge, Janus then saw two customs officers who were already waiting at the end of the corridor bridge.
The flight attendant handed Janus over to them along with Janus's documents as he said, "Gentlemen, this is Mr. Campbell."
One of the customs officers nodded and said, "Thank you for your hard work. You can leave everything else to us."
After that, he walked up to Janus and said," Are you Mr. Janus Campbell?"
Janus nodded lightly. "I am.”
The customs officer said, "Welcome home, Mr. Campbell. Please come with us to go through the customs process first."
Janus asked, "Sir, what is the next process?"
The customs officer explained, "It's actually very simple. You were only repatriated by the United States, but you are still a citizen of Hong Kong. We have already inquired about your situation in advance. You do not have any criminal records in Hong Kong, and you are a law-abiding citizen. So, you only need to do a routine registration with us, and you can then enter the country freely."
Having said that, the customs officer then added, "Oh, by the way, you can call your family members now and ask them to come and pick you up. We will speed up the work on our end, so it will only take an hour at most."
Janus smiled faintly and said, "That will not be necessary. Please bring me through the process first."
"Okay." The customs officer nodded and said, "Please come with me."
