Amidst their shock, Xur He felt himself caught by someone before he crashed into the ground.
It was a middle-aged man who was dressed in a military uniform.
Despite his strong features, he did not appear fearsome nor intimidating.
In fact, he gave everyone the impression that he was a perfectly ordinary man.
He was the sort of man who would not draw any attention to himself if he were to walk down the street.
Yet, it was this seemingly ordinary looking man who had caught Xur He with a single hand behind the latter's back.
He pulled Xur He down to the ground and began marching towards the crowd with Xur He in tow.
His face revealed no emotion. No one knew the power that hid within his strong and sturdy form.
What blew everyone away was how the earth cracked and splintered under his feet and how deep cracks appeared in hard cement with every step that he took.
The skies stretched out behind him while the vast army of soldiers bowed before him.
An overpowering aura exuded from his person while the deafening sound of his footsteps resounded in the air as he made his way towards Xur Jun-Lin and Ye Fan.
A fearsome power filled the air. The waves of authority that this man exuded sent fear coursing through everyone's blood.
"Is this...is this the Military God of China, Long Bai-Chuan?” Li Er and the others blurted out in horror as they stared at the man approaching them.
They had not felt such fear when Xur Jun-Lin had appeared.
This man did not seem like a man at all. He seemed to tower above them all like a mountain.
"What a bunch of ignorant fools. You have no idea what Bai-Chuan is truly capable of!” laughed Xur Jun-Lin when he saw the terrified looks on everyone's faces. His eyes glimmered with scorn and disdain.
These men were but village idiots who had not seen the world.
The general turned towards Ye Fan and leveled a look of sympathy at the latter. Ye Fan was nothing but a corpse to him now.
He was a dead man walking.
Long Bai-Chuan was the Military God of China and the highest commanding officer in the military. He was a fearsome fighter in his own right too.
No matter how powerful Ye Fan might be, he wasn't going to be a match for Long Bai-Chuan.
This man was the man whom Xur Jun-Lin had carefully chosen out of tens of thousands of men. A mere young punk like Ye Fan could hardly compare with Long Bai-Chuan.
"This is the end for you, punk. We're going to end our games here," laughed Xur Jun-Lin mirthlessly before turning his gaze towards the approaching Long Bai-Chuan. "Bai-Chuan, deal with this, please. Kill this audacious punk."
The tone of his voice was heavy with the threat of violence and death.
Xur He echoed his father's sentiments.
"Uncle Long, you've finally arrived. This is the scoundrel who insulted my father and disrespected the Xur family. He killed my nephew, Shao-Hua, too. Please, take him down!" Hate and resentment dripped heavily from his words as he spoke.
Their voices rang out loudly in Haiyuan Restaurant, and their words an open declaration of their murderous intent.
Long Bai-Chuan walked up to Ye Fan with Xur He in his arms.
Everyone expected him to put Xur He down and launch a relentless attack against Ye Fan. Yet, the unexpected
happened next.
Amidst the stunned stares of everyone, the reinforcement that Xur Jun-Lin and his son had hoped for lifted Xur He above his head and flung him onto the ground.
The ground shook and cracked.
