When Ye Qingtian last visited this place, it was bustling with activity. Martial artists and swordsmen could be seen everywhere, taking advantage of the dense aura around the Universe Tree. The elemental forces of heaven and earth were much stronger here than in the outside world, making Mount Kransbay a sought-after training ground. However, the scene before Ye Qingtian now was one of desolation and loneliness. The once prosperous place had become empty and abandoned, causing him great sadness. It was a waste to see such a perfect place for cultivation go to waste. This was a clear indication that the martial artists of the present had lost their way. They no longer possessed the drive to progress and break through their own limits, unlike the martial artists of the past who pursued excellence.
Despite the sadness he felt, Ye Qingtian had to put it aside and continue on his journey. Even if he had to walk alone, he was determined to do so. He treaded the rugged mountain path and found himself once again under the Universe Tree. The surroundings still resembled a paradise on earth, but the tents were now empty. Ye Qingtian paid no mind to this and continued moving forward.
As night fell, the darkness enveloped the area, with only the specks of starlight illuminating the world. Ye Qingtian was surprised to hear a rustling sound accompanied by moans coming from nearby. He furrowed his brows and quickly looked towards the source of the sound. He noticed a light coming from a wooden house up ahead and wondered if there was someone else present.
Curiosity piqued, Ye Qingtian moved closer and the sound became clearer. He suddenly realized that it was a woman's voice. Just as he was about to push the door open, a startled cry came from inside and something was thrown out towards him. Ye Qingtian deftly caught the object, which turned out to be women's underwear. He quickly threw it away, realizing what had happened. He couldn't believe that the Universe Tree had become a place of decadence and pleasure for some. He sternly shouted and struck out with his palm, causing a figure to burst forth from the room and engage in a brief clash with him.
After the clash, Ye Qingtian's acquaintance, Gaius, recognized him and burst into laughter. They struck up a friendly conversation, with Gaius explaining that they were all on the same side. Gaius mentioned that he was guarding someone in seclusion, which surprised Ye Qingtian. He learned that Ye Fan, also known as Dragon Master, had been in seclusion under the Universe Tree for over a month. Ye Qingtian was eager to see him and quickly dashed towards the tree, with Gaius chasing after him to warn him not to disturb Ye Fan.
Under the towering tree, Ye Qingtian found Ye Fan sitting cross-legged, his eyes and brows tightly closed. The energy of heaven and earth seemed to be flowing around him, intensifying his aura with each breath. Gaius warned Ye Qingtian not to disturb Ye Fan during his seclusion, but Ye Qingtian was determined to see him. He shed tears while laughing heartily, overwhelmed with emotion.
"Hahaha...
"I knew it. I was right about this kid.
"He's still putting in effort...
"He still hasn't given up on this world...
"In this world, there are still people who are striving to save countless ordinary individuals," Ye Qingtian said excitedly.
Gaius listened on the side, utterly bewildered.
He couldn't comprehend why Ye Qingtian was so agitated, let alone understand why he was overwhelmed with tears.
Why is he so upset and moved when Master is in seclusion?
Gaius didn't understand, and he never would.
Only someone like Ye Qingtian, who takes the responsibility of the world upon himself, would understand such emotions.
He had thought that on the journey to battle the apocalypse, he was alone.
Upon reaching the foot of Mount Kransbay, Ye Qingtian realized that he was not alone.
On this seemingly impossible journey, there were already some who had arrived ahead of him.
And this person, Ye Fan, was indeed the one he had placed great hopes on.
Years ago, during their rushed farewell, it was Ye Fan who warned him that the end was near, advising him to prepare in advance.
After that, there was no news from Ye Fan.
