The Man In Rage novel Chapter 744

"Mr Chu, I...I...I..." said Wei Wu-Jie as he and his brother knelt before Ye Fan.

Wei Wu-Jie had turned pale in shock and hung his head, and apologized nonstop.

He was so overwhelmed with fear that he kept stammering and sounded like a chicken clucking nonstop.

Ye Fan looked at them. Then he shook his head and smiled as he said, "No, don't. I'm not Mr Chu."

"No no no! You ARE Mr Chu."

"No, I'm not," continued Ye Fan as he shook his head.

"Mr Chu, please, don't be like this..."

Ye Fan's teasing put Wei Wu-Jie on the brink of tears. He was utterly terror-struck from hearing Ye Fan's words.

Wei Wu-Jie was terrified Ye Fan might slaughter him, so he had no choice but to turn to Chen Nan and begged, "Miss Chen, you are Mr Chu's woman, so can you please help me beg for leniency? I didn't mean to offend him. I thought he..."

Regret brimmed from Wei Wu-Jie's heart as he begged nonstop.

Chen Nan smiled and consoled him, "Mr Wei, get up. Don't be afraid. Fan didn't take it to heart at all. Would you still be able to stand here unscathed if he was angry with you?"

Her words slowly echoed through the restaurant.

Chen Nan had known Ye Fan for a long time, so she knew him best.

Ye Fan was always magnanimous.

And he didn't care about minor infractions like this.

Moreover, Wei Wu-Jie meant well and wanted to protect Mr Chu's reputation.

But he ended up committing such a huge mistake and causing such a joke.

However, Ye Fan didn't intend on letting of Wei Wu-Jie so easily.

Ye Fan walked over and hung his head to look at Wei Wu-Jie. Then he said calmly, "Since Nannan spoke up for you, I won't put you in a spot. But you have to act on your promise.”

"What...what promise?" asked Wei Wu-Jie at a loss. He didn't know what Ye Fan was referring to.

Ye Fan laughed gently and clarified, "It must be too much for a busy man like Mr Wei to remember it. But I keenly remember someone saying that if I weren't Mr Chu, he would call me ‘Grandpa'."

Ye Fan said slowly in a calm tone, but it made Wei Wu-Jie feel like he was going for war and treading on thin ice as intense fear kept surging through him.

"I...I..." stuttered Wei Wu-Jie, who clearly remembered those words.

He merely randomly blurted it out, but he didn't expect Ye Fan to take it seriously.

How could Wei Wu-Jie bring himself to call Ye Fan 'Grandpa' in front of so many people?

Just as Wei Wu-Jie went into a loss about what to do, Ye Fan shook his head and laughed. Then he turned to leave without waiting for Wei Wu-Jie's reply.

"Mr Chu, please wait," said someone from behind as Ye Fan left.

A middle-aged man took three steps forward and chased after Ye Fan.

"You are?" asked Ye Fan. Since he didn't know the man, he instantly frowned.

"Mr Chu, I'm Lin Ping-Zhi, Deputy Mayor of Jingzhou. I've heard so much about you. I'm honored to see you! But I didn't expect the man who has been making waves recently to be such a dashing young man. I'm so surprised by how young you are. The most outstanding people come from the youth," said Lin Ping-Zhi as he sighed from being so impressed by Ye Fan. Then he reached his hand out to shake Ye Fan's.

Ye Fan smiled politely.
